Reflecting on what a knowledge based curriculum for Early Years might mean (2 hour Talk and Walk)

8 November @ 09:15 - 11:15

Reflecting on what a knowledge based curriculum for Early Years might mean.

  • How does the EYFS curriculum sit within the new OFSTED Inspection frameworks?
  • What should our focus be when we work with the youngest children?
  • What does this look like at Rachel McMillan Nursery School, believed to be the first outdoor nursery in the country and an Ofsted Outstanding setting?

This is an opportunity for reflection with colleagues on EYFS provision. A chance to consider our own skills in children’s vocabulary and concept development and our own responsibilities to be the ‘wise elder’ in our interactions with children. What do we want children to experience in the EYFS? What do we believe should be their entitlement?

Who is this event for?

Practitioners, NQTs,  those new to the EYFS,  and those interested in getting a taster session on schemas and learning styles.
